Neato Robotics are leaders in robot vacuums and the concept of smart cleaning. At the end of August, they announced the newest addition to their line of robot vacuums – the Neato Botvac D7. Connected, powerful, and intelligent, you won’t have owned anything quite like this before.
Robot vacuums are the perfect addition to any busy household, and those who barely have time to eat are often left relieved knowing that the cleanliness of their floors is being taken care of.
This particular model has the power to completely map your home as it vacuums, which allows you to give it very specific cleaning instructions.
When it comes to actually creating the map of your home, there are a few different ways that you can teach your new vacuum cleaner. You can let it discover everything itself on its first cleaning trip, or you can put it into discovery mode.
The latter setting means that you won’t risk it vacuuming places that you set as no-go areas later on.
Leading on from this, you will be able to use the app to set the places that are off limits, but your vacuum will also send reports to the app that let you know about any obstructions that prevented it from cleaning properly.
Of course, you might be thinking about other brands that have been able to map your home before this one. The thing is, they are not nearly as detailed or accurate, and many of them relied on you placing sensors throughout your home.
This is a whole new level of smart cleaning, and one that is sure to leave you feeling quite impressed.
Excitingly, this vacuum cleaner will also integrate with all of your technology in the home, including things like Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
While the release date is still a mystery, we do know it is planned for the fourth quarter of 2017, and will be around £600. Watch this space for more updates!
