Bosch Serie 8 WIW28500GB Integrated 8Kg Washing

1. Best Built-in Washing Machine – Bosch

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Spin Speed: 1400RPM
  • Washing Capacity: 8kg
  • Noise Level: 67dB (max)
  • Weight: 76kg
  • Overall Size: 81.8×59.6×54.4cm

For those looking to buy a solid all-round integrated washing machine, this Bosch model is an excellent choice. It functions just as well as any freestanding washing machine without sacrificing your home’s look.

The Good

While it will mostly be hidden behind a cupboard door, I love the smooth and modern design of this machine. The drum is quite large and capable of holding 8kg of laundry, making it perfect for a medium to large family.

The maximum spin speed is 1400 RPM, which means that all of the excess moisture will be removed easily before you take the clothes out; no more waiting around for clothes to dry.

This machine is quiet while running and the drum is gentle with clothes, giving you peace of mind. There is a wide range of wash cycles available with this model, including a sensitive skin cycle that runs at a high temperature to kill bacteria and allergens.

The display is easy to read and there is a child lock in place to prevent any curious little ones from getting into trouble.

The Not So Good

The price tag on this Bosch model is a little high compared to other brands and there is no half load wash setting. The Beko machine below would be the better choice if you want something more budget friendly.

Our View

While this particular model is on the higher end of the price spectrum, integrated machines are often a little pricier than their freestanding counterparts. The Serie 8 has a great energy rating and is durable enough to last for years to come.

The projected display is very useful, especially when doing a lot of laundry at once. If you need a reliable and hard-wearing machine, the Bosch Serie 8 is one of the best built-in integrated washing machines on the market.

Beko WIR76540F1 Integrated 7Kg Washing Machine

2. Best Integrated Washing Machine Under £400 – Beko

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Spin Speed: 1600RPM
  • Washing Capacity: 7kg
  • Noise Level: 72dB (max)
  • Weight: 71kg
  • Overall Size: 82x60x56

A good standard machine, the Beko gives a lot of bang for its buck. A little on the pricier side, the Beko has a lot of excellent functions to make doing laundry easier on you. If this sounds like something you need, keep reading this review to find out more.

The Good

A 7kg capacity means that this Beko model can handle a decent-sized load with ease. However, if you want something a little bigger the Candy machine here might be better.

With a spin speed of 1600 RPM, you really do not have to worry about excessive moisture increasing your drying time. Both the spin and wash performance on this Beko have been rated A for your peace of mind.

With plenty of handy features to choose from, washing suddenly becomes less of a chore with the Beko washing machine. The dark wash washes clothes at a cooler temperature to prevent fading and many of the cycles are short.

There is a sports and gym setting for gym rats and sports enthusiasts and there are a delay timer and child lock. The door opens wide for easy access and the machine is both quiet and incredibly energy efficient.

The Not So Good

Some customers have noted that the screw holes in the front of the machine are not standard spaced, which may make attaching the door component difficult.

Our View

While this Beko model is a little pricey, it really does have a lot to offer in terms of functionality and utility. Both quick and long cycles make it easy to control how and when you do laundry.

Whether you have a large family that goes through a lot of loads or are a gym rat that needs specialist settings to care for their clothes, it really is hard to believe that you get all this for under £400.

Zanussi Z714W43BI Integrated 7Kg Washing Machine

3. Quietest Integrated Washing Machine – Zanussi

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Spin Speed: 1400RPM
  • Washing Capacity: 7kg
  • Noise Level: 72dB (max)
  • Weight: 66.5kg

The Zanussi integrated washing machine is a quiet and multifunctional model that is perfect for medium or growing households. If you want a machine that is quiet, energy-efficient, and auto-adjusting, look no further than this review to find out how this machine can make your life easier.

The Good

With a 7kg capacity drum and 1400 RPM, this Zanussi model may not seem like much to look at, but there is more than meets the eye here. The A+++ rating means that you can save the environment while saving money on bills.

If you want clothes that are even drier when they come out of the wash, you might want to give the Beko with its 1600RPM a try instead.

This Zanussi’s AutoAdjust function is a handy tech feature that senses how large a load of laundry is and automatically adjusts how long the cycle runs for; in fact, wash times can be reduced by as much as 30 percent.

There are added cycles such as wool and duvet functions for people who need them. The easy-iron function reduces creases and wrinkles in the wash to make ironing a quick task and the childproof lock means that you never have to worry about your little ones going near the machine.

The Not So Good

Some customers have noted that the short cycle lasts for just over an hour, about 20 minutes longer than on other Zanussi models.

Our View

This washing machine is perfect for parents who have a baby or small child in the house as it runs quietly and has plenty of safety features.

Various features on the machine make it easy to save time and money while doing laundry and it is easy to wash complex items such as wool or duvets.

The short warranty is the biggest drawback but it does not stop this model from being an excellent choice for its price.

Further Models of Integrated Washing Machine

Here are some further models of integrated washing machine for you to consider, just in case the ones above do not quite meet your requirements.

4. Best 9kg Integrated Washing Machine – Candy

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Spin Speed: 1600RPM
  • Washing Capacity: 9kg
  • Noise Level: 79dB (max)
  • Weight: 68kg
  • Overall Size: 82×59.6x55cm

If a larger drum is what you need, look no further than this Candy washing machine. Capable of washing up to 9kg of washing at a time at 1600 RPM, this washing machine can take whatever you throw at it.

Its energy rating is A+++, meaning that you don’t have to worry about the environment or larger energy bills. The wash and spin are both rated A, ensuring a deep clean and decent dry every time.

There are 17 different programmes including cotton, delicate, mixed, hygiene+, three different quick washes, synthetics, wool, intensive, and more. There is even a baby programme that removes baby stains and lingering detergent to deep clean and protects your child’s skin.

The best aspect of the Candy machine is the AutoAdjust feature, which senses how large the load is and adjusts the water, time, and energy level to suit each load.

Hotpoint BIWMHG71484 Integrated 7Kg Washing Machine

5. Cheap Integrated Washing Machine – Hotpoint

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Spin Speed: 1400RPM
  • Washing Capacity: 7kg
  • Noise Level: 73dB (max)
  • Weight: 64.4kg
  • Overall Size: 82×59.5×54.5cm

For me, the best thing about this machine is its handy programmes. It’s a sleek and modern looking machine with an LED display screen and a dial for easy cycle selection.

The 1400RPM cycle removes any excess water with ease and the A+++ energy rating ensures that you help keep your carbon footprint down. Although it isn’t quite as powerful as the Candy model above.

There are two different anti-stain features, the Anti Stain 100 and Anti Stain Quick Wash, to protect you against any surprise spills; this feature completely erases 20 of the most common stains in just one cycle.

Not only that, but there is a duvet, coloureds, whites, and Woolmark blue cycle to keep your home as clean and soft as possible. This is a great little machine that would do well in any small to medium household.

Hotpoint BIWMHG71484 Integrated 7Kg Washing Machine

6. Semi-Integrated Washing Machine – Hotpoint

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Washing Capacity: 7kg
  • Noise Level: 71dB (max)
  • Weight: 64.4kg
  • Overall Size: 82×59.5×54.5cm

A very similar model to the one above, this washing machine is almost identical but with a few key differences; this model is a semi-integrated washing machine.

A little cheaper than its fully integrated counterpart, this Hotpoint washing machine is perfect for medium households thanks to its standard size drum and 1200 RPM cycle. There are a 24-hour delay function and a wide opening portal for easy access.

The only thing is that it can be a little loud, and so those looking for quiet might want to turn their attention to the Bosch model at the start. The wash is considered A standard with the spin following close behind at a B.

Some standard features include cotton, dark, delicate, economy, intensive, mixed, quick silk, spin and drain, wool, and synthetics. With the A+++ energy rating and same excellent features as its sister model, it is easy to see why this model is a great fit for any home.

Buying Guide

Looking at products online or in-store can be overwhelming if you are unsure what to look out for. This buyer’s guide is designed to give you an idea of what to bear in mind while shopping around and help you make the most informed decision possible before purchase.

This review takes an honest look at each product to save you time and potential headaches.

What is an Integrated Washing Machine?

An integrated washing machine is a washing machine that is built into your cupboard or unit. Once the machine is installed, a cupboard door is attached to the front to conceal the machine in the unit.

It blends in with the home, creating a lovely look that doesn’t leave unsightly appliances in the open. There is nothing different about it in terms of functionality; it really just is a standard washing machine.

It just needs a few more screws and some extra installation work.

What is the First Thing to Look for?

The first thing to look out for when looking for an integrated washing machine is the product’s dimensions. Choosing and measuring a unit or cupboard spot beforehand will make selecting a machine easier.

There is nothing worse than purchasing a new appliance only to find out that it doesn’t actually fit in your intended space.

While most washing machines follow standard dimensions, there are portable models and larger than normal models that need to be considered. So, take out the tape measure and remember to match up the dimensions.

Are They Eco-Friendly?

All washing machines will consume electricity but choosing a washing machine that has an energy rating of A+++ to B is a good way of reducing your carbon footprint.

This rating means that they are exceptionally efficient, and therefore will use a lot less energy. This is good in the sense that it is eco-friendlier, but also because it will save you a nice chunk of money on your energy bills.

Quick and Delayed Wash Options

Many modern washing machines have delayed wash cycles that can help you take advantages of cheaper energy tariffs.

Quick wash cycles are handy for those who want to wash a lot of laundry in a short space of time, and can also be handy if there are clothes you need but can’t wait all day for.

The delayed options are handy if you are going out or you have a lot to do and think you might forget about it. With this timer, you can select the start time for your wash so that you remain on schedule.

There are even some models of washing machine that have smart functions allowing you to control the delayed start from your phone.

Model Size

Be sure to measure your space correctly and carefully check it against your desired product’s dimensions. If it is wrong by even a few millimetres then it may not fit into your space properly.

This is especially important for the integrated washing machines because they have such a specific space that they need to fit into. Read our guide on how to plumb your washing machine to find out everything you may need to know.

That, and you have to make sure it will work with your home. Is it going to be too big for it? If you are afraid a standard machine is going to take up too much room, we actually have a guide to portable washing machines that are much more compact.

Drum Size

Taking drum size into account may not seem like a priority but it can save you time and money down the line. For example, large drums are a good option for those with medium to large families as it means fewer loads of laundry and less energy used.

Generally speaking, the largest drum you will find commercially is 12kg, although there are some rare models out there that go as big as 15kg. Most households are sorted with a 7kg machine, but larger families will be better suited to a 10kg one instead.

Special Wash Cycles

While shopping around, it is also good to consider what kind of clothes you wash regularly. For example, those who work out regularly or who wear a lot of wool may want to pick a machine with a sports or wool cycle. Here are some of the other cycles you can expect to find:

  • Sensitive
  • Delicates
  • Baby
  • Eco
  • Hot

To Conclude

Thank you for reading this built-in washing machine review. I hope that this guide has helped you make an informed decision for which integrated washing machine is best for your home.

I picked out some great models and am curious to see what you think. Which one do you think is best?

Out of these machines, it was the Zanussi that really blew me away. With so many young and growing families out there and our increasingly busy schedules, the Zanussi seems like the perfect fit.

Not only is it incredibly quiet while running, but it also automatically reduces and adjusts so that you do not waste any time, energy, or money. It really is a cut above the rest and, even though all five are wonderful, I would pick that one for my home.

What did you think of our integrated washing machine guide? Are there any that you would have liked to see or recommended? I love hearing from you, so make sure to leave me a message in the comments below.
