Have a little peek below and see if this is the machine for you.
The Good
A standard design doesn’t mean that this is a basic machine. With maximum spin speeds of 1400RPM, excess water won’t be an issue for this little powerhouse.
The 7kg capacity is great for the average household, and you’ll be surprised by how much laundry you can pack in there. The LCD display gives it a modern feel, and the detergent drawer is spacious with easy access.
There are loads of fantastic settings, including washes for delicates and wool, as well as quick washes. Even common stains can be removed during the fast cycle, which shows you just how powerful this machine is.
There is an allergy setting for those with sensitive skin, and this cycle will remove 99.9% of allergens, including dust mites, so that you can wear clothes comfortably.
The Not So Good
Some customers have found it a little tricky to get things set up because it automatically loads the display in French. It is also exceptionally noisy, and if you want a quieter Hotpoint machine, we strongly recommend the BIW Integrated instead.
Our View
At its core, this is an affordable machine that offers a lot of bang for your buck. The display can be a little irritating while you are getting used to the settings, and you might need to pull the odd-sock out of the ring, but it is worth it.
Power and efficiency reign supreme here, and it has some fantastic settings that you just don’t find anywhere else for this kind of price. This Hotpoint is worth every penny, and it won’t break the bank either.
Buying Guide
To give you all the information I can, please enjoy this buying guide before we move onto the products themselves. It contains key information about Hotpoint washing machines, including the kind of price range to expect and some of their most defining features.
About Hotpoint Washing Machines
They are one of the leading brands, and have been seen as such for decades. It’s not just a freestanding washing machine they produce either; you are able to find pretty much every other appliance needed in your home there too.
They’re a force of nature, and you can tell that they really listen to what their customers want. Their machines are loaded with fantastic features and functions, each of which is designed to make washing clothes a process that is both easier and more enjoyable for you.
How Much are Hotpoint Washing Machines?
As with any freestanding washing machine brand, this all depends on the model you choose. However, I have to say that Hotpoint certainly stick to the affordable side of things with pretty much all of their models.
Prices tend to start at the £250 mark, and they rarely go over £500. This means that you are left with plenty of options within your budget, especially as you will find most models on the lower end of the price spectrum.
Features
What about the features? There are so many great ones with Hotpoint, as well as those that are certain to come in very handy. Below, you will find some of the ones I deem most important, as well as those who buy them.
They’re more than just these features though, so make sure to check out what each machine has to offer because there are some seriously handy ones
Quiet
Hotpoint washing machines tend to be quite quiet, especially when compared to a top-loading machine. This means that while they are running, you can benefit from a peaceful home that isn’t overrun by the sound of a spinning freestanding washing machine.
Good Energy Ratings
The energy ratings found on Hotpoint models are excellent, and certainly some of the highest on the market. Many of them have at least an A+++ rating, which is the maximum rating on the EU scale.
There are even models that surpass this by 20%, making them some of the most efficient around. If you want a machine that will save energy and money, you can’t go wrong with Hotpoint.
Drum Size
The average drum size for Hotpoint washing machines is 7kg, which is a good and standard size for a regular household. This should fit a good amount of laundry inside, ensuring that your loads get done quickly.
There are also plenty of 8kg and 9kg, with some (but very few) 12kg machines available. However, a 7kg freestanding washing machine should be suited to practically every home.
Fast Enough Spin Cycles
They do offer very quick spin cycles, which is perfect if you only want to put on a quick load. The time might be short, but the washing quality is uncompromised; remaining thorough and gentle with your clothes.
Plus, the final spin is exceptionally fast in order to remove excess moisture so that drying them is much quicker and easier than normal. Many have a spin speed of 1400RPM, which is quite impressive.
Different Wash Settings Available
There are loads of different wash settings, or programmes, available. Everything from delicates and handwash, to hygiene and baby, can be found on Hotpoint washing machines. Some even have four different quick wash modes to choose from.
The number of settings available does depend on the model you buy, but each of them has an excellent selection to make laundry an easier task.

Warranty
Every Hotpoint appliance comes with a one-year warranty automatically. Once you register your appliance, this is extended to five years, which is exceptionally good. This covers breakdowns and mechanical faults, as well as parts and labour.
Registering your freestanding washing machine is really easy too, and it can be done online or over the phone.
You can even take into your own hands to take out insurance for your Hotpoint washing machines. So take a look at our top choices for the best washing machine insurance, including breakdown and repair.
To Conclude
I hope that you have enjoyed my guide to Hotpoint washing machines, and that the Hotpoint washing machine reviews have been able to give you a clear idea of what to expect.
Combining my choices with the experiences of customers creates the ultimate companion to choosing your next appliance.
You deserve a freestanding washing machine that functions well, and that is able to clean your clothes effectively in good time. Each of these machines is able to offer that, but I do have a personal favourite.
The Hotpoint washing machines Extra WMXTF942G would be my choice here because it has a massive capacity as well as excellent features and cycles, or if you are after an integrated model then the Hotpoint BIWMHG71284 Integrated would be my choice being the top affordable washing machine.
If you have people in your home with allergies and sensitive skin, I would strongly recommend the machines that have specialised cycles for that; of which I have listed quite a few. Hotpoint certainly remains a top brand for me, and I know it’s going to leave your laundry looking and feeling amazing.
