Dyson is a hugely popular brand, and it has provided people with exceptional vacuum cleaners for decades. It can be difficult to choose a vacuum with so many brands and models on the market, but with Dyson you generally know that you are getting something reliable and trustworthy.
If you have pets, you are likely to need something more powerful, and this is where the Dyson DC 54 Animal comes in. Living in a pet filled home, I found this vacuum massively useful, take a look at my Dyson DC 54 Animal review.
Dyson DC 54 Animal
For those who are looking for something powerful and versatile for their home, this could be the perfect model. It was made to deal with pet fur as well as allergies, bringing up embedded hair from carpet and trapping allergens in its filter. Plus, there are a great selection of attachments.
Things to Consider Before Buying a Dyson DC 54 Animal
For those that have either single or multiple pets, the fur can become a little overwhelming – especially during moulting season. This can be especially tricky if you have thick carpets, and for these situations you need a cylinder vacuum cleaner that is designed to be powerful enough to give your floors a deep clean. The Dyson DC 54 Animal is able to solve this issue with its powerful suction.
For those that suffer from asthma and allergies, finding a good vacuum can also be tricky. After all, most vacuum cleaners don’t have a filtration system and so the allergens and other microbes are shot out the back of the machine, re-joining the air around them. The Dyson DC 54 Animal has a powerful filtration system that works to remove allergens and microbes from the air and provide you with a more breathable atmosphere.
Presenting the Dyson DC 54 Animal
The Dyson DC 54 Animal is a lightweight and articulate vacuum cleaner that is sure to serve you well when it comes to cleaning your home. It offers good suctions for all floor types, and will ensure that even the deepest reaches of your carpet are sufficiently cleaned.
This model promises to provide you with a superb clean, especially when it comes to picking up pet hair and dirt.
It is easy to move around the home and comes with plenty of attachments to help you reach difficult areas and even clean your furniture efficiently. Plus, the whole machine is easy to maintain and put together, mixing simplicity with power.
The filter doesn’t require washing and is unlikely to need replacing, supporting this vacuum’s easy usage. This machine promises to do the things you need it to with great efficiency.
However, if you have quite a few stairs in your home this might not be the best model for you. Instead, a Dyson Animal V6 might be the best option as it is compact, handheld, and easy to use on stairs. Plus, it was built to deal with fur and so can still remove all the fluff and dirt that has been shed and embedded in the carpet.
Features and Benefits
The Dyson DC 54 Animal features 54 tiny cyclones that power up to create centrifugal forces that separate microscopic particles. They are Dyson’s most efficient and work better than the vast majority of cyclones on the market. This makes it fantastic for those who have allergies and asthma and are looking for a machine that will keep the microbes trapped and not be pushed out with the rest of the excess air.
While a larger vacuum cleaner, it does not have a bulky feel to it and is quite easy to store away – perfect for those who have some extra cupboard space. It also comes with a range of tools and heads, so you can give your home a thorough and well deserved clean. The hard floor tool is gentle on your flooring yet delivers enough power to pick up debris and keep the floors clear. There is also a carpet head to get the embedded dirt and hair, which is also very powerful.
The crevice tool is ideal for gaps and cracks that are usually hard to get to, and the up holster tool allows you to keep your furniture clean and free from pet hair. It also has a tangle free turbine tool, which is the only turbine tool that will not tangle as there is no brush for hair and fur to get wrapped around. Instead, it uses multiple rotating heads. All of the heads are very articulated for easy use and movement.
It is a Dyson ball vacuum, so it is light and easy to steer – unlike the conventional ball vacuums. It can make tight turning circles with ease thanks to the central pivoting point, and gives you much greater control over it. The canister, however, is a little small considering the size of this Dyson vacuum cleaner, and it can be tricky to empty as well. The button is a little fiddly and it can cause the dust and debris to spray into the air a little. However, with great care the spreading can be avoided.
It can be a little tricky to use on the stairs as well due to its larger design. It can be a little difficult to balance on the stairs and often falls onto its size. This was tested on average sized stairs, and I found that a handheld vacuum did a better job. The hose size is good, but again it is a little tricky to use on the stairs.
