Earlier this year, the unthinkable happened; my vacuum cleaner died. I sucked up something I shouldn’t have by accident, and it caused the entire thing to break down. There was nothing that could be done except buy a new one.
The only problem? My budget at the time was really tight, and I couldn’t afford to pick up one of my top choices.
After doing some research on the web, I came across the VYTRONIX BCS01. The reviews were mixed, to say the least, but a vacuum was better than no vacuum, so I decided to give it a go.
Ideally, my vacuum cleaners should be good across all floor types, made for allergies, and also excellent at picking up pet hair. I was sceptical, but at this point, I didn’t have much to lose.
All in all, the VYTRONIX BCS01 met my expectations. Whether or not that is a good thing, I will leave to you as you scroll through my detailed review.
All I will say here is that there are definitely better models out there, and that had I not needed a replacement urgently, I probably would have waited.
Cordless stick vacuum
Cheap and cheerful are two ways to describe this vacuum cleaner. It may not be very powerful, or great across all floor types, but it is good at the basics; picking up large debris.
It might not be a market leader, but it might just be what you need to do the job when you find yourself in need of a vacuum as well as in a financial pinch.
- PROS AND CONS
- 0.7L dustbin

Presenting the VYTRONIX BCS01
The VYTRONIX BCS01 is perfect for those on a tight budget who need something that can complete the basics of vacuuming.
It does well with big chunks of debris, and so is suited to those who need quick and simple hoovering jobs done.
Pus, the long running time is a good advantage if you have quite a large home to clean.
However, there is a lot that this model doesn’t quite get right, and if you are after something that will thoroughly clean your home on a daily basis; you may need up your budget to look elsewhere.
It doesn’t have the power to reach down into carpets, and fine dust can be a challenge for it. Before I go any further, I will reiterate that it is not suitable for those with asthma and allergies either.
Design and Features
I do like the design; it is pretty standard in the world of cordless stick vacuum cleaners. It has a purple wand, and the slim build makes for nice handling. On top of that, it is also very compact and easy to store.
This means it can be tucked away into pretty much any space. I can confirm this as someone who only has limited room and very tiny cupboards.
The main floorhead does have a motorised brush bar, which is a common feature for most vacuum cleaners. The purpose of it is to clean carpets more effectively, and you can switch to the hard floor mode if you have multiple floor types in your home.
The floorhead doesn’t have anything other than this, which is likely because it comes at such a low price.
The VYTRONIX BCS01 can transform into a handheld vacuum cleaner, which makes it way easier to reach places like the stairs. This is also a handy feature for cleaning inside the car, as well as furniture.
You will find that the attachments fit quite easily to the end of the main body as well, which makes for more versatile cleaning overall.
The main wand also has a tool holder so that the accessories can be attached to the vacuum while you are cleaning. This keeps them organised, but also means they are always close so that they can be used.
Additionally, there is a battery level indicator that will let you know how much charge the machine has, as well as when you need to plug it in. Considering the price, this is a pretty great feature to have.
How Noisy is it?
One of the things that this model gets right is the volume. It is around 70db, making it exceptionally quiet when running. It is a good 10db lower than brands like Dyson, Shark, and Vax.
Battery Life and Charging
The VYTRONIX BCS01 does have an excellent battery life, especially when you take into account how cheap it is. When you are using the regular power mode, you can expect a good 60 minutes of running time.
In the max setting, you are looking at closer to 30; which is still an excellent number for such a budget model. The charging period is longer at 4.5 hours, but still shorter than a Dyson V8.
It comes with a wall mount as well, which can make charging a lot easier. This can be attached to the wall using screws, or you can pick up a cordless vacuum stand instead.
Alternatively, you can plug it into the mains to charge and just leave it on the floor; which is what I do as I have barely any wall space as it is.
Weight and Handling
I can’t lie; it is a very lightweight model, even for a cordless vacuum. Coming in at 2.4kg, it is feather light and sure to make cleaning easier for you. It puts less strain on the wrists and back, which is good if you have arthritis or painful joints.
Furthermore, the lighter weight also means better handling, so you can swoop across your home effortlessly in order to get it clean. The ease of use is definitely one of the plus sides of this vacuum cleaner.
Dust Canister and Filter
The capacity is pretty average for a cordless vacuum cleaner at 0.7L. This should be more than enough to clean your home at least once over (especially with the suction provided by this machine).
The main issue I had with the capacity is that the more the bin filled up, the worse the suction became. Honestly, I will never doubt Dyson’s claims that they don’t lose suction; this is what they were talking about. It’s frustrating, and it does mean the canister needs to be emptied more.
For the average household, the filters are good, but for those with asthma and allergies, they are not effective. The quality is poor, even for the price, and they allow dust to be pushed back into the home when you are cleaning.
It certainly doesn’t meet the standards of other vacuum brands – even those that have cheaper, budget, models.
How Well Does It Clean?
I was not impressed with the way it worked on carpet. Large debris was removed, but you could still see dirt on the ground even after multiple passes. In the end, I gave up and admitted defeat.
The motorised brush bar did not work to the level I expected, and I was disappointed to see how much was left behind. It barely scratched the surface, let alone reached down into the fibres.
The VYTRONIX BCS01 is definitely better suited to hard floors. It might have a hard time with dust and debris that is finer in size, but it certainly picks up more on solid surfaces.
Large debris is, once again, not a problem, and I was satisfied with the job it did on hard floors. I could have done with more suction, but it performed as well as could be expected for the price.
In handheld mode, it offers a little more power. It’s handy for the car and furniture, as well as the stairs, because it is smaller and therefore easier to handle.
The slight power increase does make it better at picking up some of the smaller stuff, but there isn’t a massive difference. Similarly, floor to ceiling cleaning works well, but is not as good as the leading brands.
How Well Does It Cope with Pet Hair?
The VYTRONIX BCS01 is not a pet vacuum, and it does not do a good job as collecting pet hair. After a couple of runs, it didn’t look like it had picked any fluff up; which was disappointing. Other than that, there is little to say about its pet hair collection capabilities.
It does come with the standard crevice tool and dusting brush; something you will find comes with the majority of vacuum cleaners. The crevice tool is for reaching difficult places, while the dusting brush is better suited to delicate surfaces and banisters.
I also like to use dusting brushes for the kitchen floor because they are so gentle, and the VYTRONIX BCS01 is no exception to that rule. The attachments clip onto the wand easily, and are very simple to use.
How Does It Compare?
Here are some other, similar, models of vacuum cleaner for you to consider, just in case you want to look at other options before you commit to a VYTRONIX BCS01.
This vacuum cleaner is in the same sort of price range as the VYTRONIX BCS01, but it offers a lot more power as well as the ability to clean hard floors and carpets exceptionally.
It’s relatively lightweight and easy to handle, but it also picks up pet hair excellently. The running time is impressive, and the short charge period also means that you won’t have to wait long between uses.
With great accessories and a budget price, it’s one of the best out there.
Vax Blade 2
This sleek and powerful stick vacuum cleaner might be cordless, but it feels more like a corded model.
The smart control dial makes hoovering an easier task as it helps to determine the floor type for the best power levels to get the job done.
It has several different power settings, and it can cope with hard floors and carpets alike; even pet hair. It comes at a reasonable price, and is sure to keep your home nice and clean.
I hope that my VYTRONIX BCS01 has been useful to you if you are considering this model. While it is unusual for me to have more negative points than positive for a vacuum cleaner, I like to be completely honest with you when I am reviewing models.
There are some things that this vacuum does well, like picking up large debris, being lightweight, and having a great running time. However, there is also a lot that it does wrong.
The suction isnt great and lost easily, it does practically nothing on carpets, and the filters are essentially pointless. For the price, you are getting an alright deal, but when you compare it to brands like Shark and Vax (both of which have affordable models), you are being cheated.
Bottom line if you are on a really tight budget, its a consideration but I would look at a corded handheld at this price point.
