Vax is a trusted and reliable brand, as well as one that really knows how to please its customers. Offering a wide range of models, they have some of the best vacuums on the market, and their cordless creations are just as good as the corded ones much of the time. Plus, they are pretty well priced.
As someone who finds cables annoying, as well as a person with very few sockets, cordless vacuum cleaners are a very appealing concept. Once I got fed up with my corded model, I did end up making the change, and I can tell you that it changed my life.
Plus, I have a dog that sheds all the time, and it has still managed to keep my home looking amazing. The Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 is an excellent choice to make, and one that will show you just how reliable and effective cordless vacuums can be.
In this guide, I am actually looking at both the Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 and TBT3V1P2, the latter of which has been designed for use with pets, so you can get a good view of what each of the vacuum cleaners is like.
Why not stop for a while and read through it? It’s a detailed guide, but it won’t take too much time, and you may just find this is the vacuum you have been looking for.

Instead, you might want to try the Vax Blade TBT3V1P2, as this was actually designed to pick up all their fur and fluff. In fact, you will find that I take a closer look at this model later on in the review, so stay tuned!
Features and Benefits
Power and Design
The Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 has a really sleek and modern design, and while it does look like a standard stick vacuum cleaner it has the classic Vax colour schemes as well as a solid, cuboid, build.
It offers an excellent amount of suction due to the cyclonic technology – providing better airflow and increased suction, even if the dust canister is getting full or the battery is running low. This is also known as the Vax Direct Helix. It also ensures better pickup and a more efficient clean.
The main floorhead has an excellent brush roll that is great for picking up hair, and it can also be attached to both the handheld section and the wand – which means you can use it anywhere in the home with ease.
It is tough on carpets, really working them to get clean, while also gentle on hard floors, but we will discuss how effective they are on each a little later. It has three power settings that can be adjusted with ease at the top of the machine, so you don’t need to fumble around too much while it is on.
The high and medium settings are great for tough stains and dirty areas, while the low one is good for a general clean around the home. However, it should be noted that it can be a little noisy as the machine does reach volumes of 82db.
It can be converted into a handheld model for ease of use, so you always have it ready to go when you need to reach tricky areas like the stairs, but also when the furniture needs a quick once over. It also means that you can reach the interior of your car effortlessly, so that you are able to keep things clean at all times.
There is also the smart control dial, and this works by not only letting you switch between settings easily (as mentioned earlier), but also telling you how much battery is left. This means that you always know how much time you have, as well as when it needs to go back on charge.
Runtime and Charge Period
The running time for the Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 is pretty exceptional, as it offers you 45 minutes of power on the regular setting, as well as 20 minutes on boost mode. This gives you plenty of time to clean your home – regardless of whether it is a small or large one – and the boost mode lasts longer than most cordless vacuum cleaners.
The charging period is a little longer than you would expect from a cordless vacuum cleaner, especially with recent developments in technology, as it takes four hours for it to become fully charged.
However, it should still be available a few times each day, and the charge lasts long enough that you probably won’t need it more than once each day. During the charge period, it is able to stand up nicely while plugged into the wall, so you can leave it to charge safely.
Weight and Handling
It is fairly lightweight, weighing in at 3kg, and this means that it is unlikely to cause any strain on your arms when you are cleaning high and low areas alike. It also makes the handling a lot smoother, allowing you to glide across your home effortlessly.
This is boosted by the addition of the swivel head, which ensures you can go around furniture with ease, as well as avoid obstacles in general when vacuuming. A few customers have felt that the handle can be uncomfortable at times, but this is a very uncommon complaint.
The dust bin for the Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 has a 0.6L capacity, which means that you won’t have to stop and empty it as frequently as the leading brands of cordless stick vacuum cleaner. This means you can spend more time vacuuming and less time worrying about whether or not the bin is getting too full.
It is also very easy to empty, with a simple system that sees you press the release button and everything falls out. Even the shroud is left remarkably clean. The filter is excellent, providing clean air for those who suffer from asthma and allergies.
It is able to trap most dust and allergens inside, keeping them from being released back into the air when you are vacuuming. It is also completely washable, and can be removed with great ease so that getting it clean is no hassle.
Cleaning Different Floor Types
It works fantastically across all floor types, and offers excellent cleaning results. Even when used on the stairs, you will find that the accompanying tools (see the next section) are able to get them looking absolutely amazing once you are finished.
The Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 is gentle on hard floors despite its brush roll, and it provides superb pickup while in use. Plus, the snowplough effect that often comes with vacuum cleaners is quite minimal with this one, so collecting both large and small debris shouldn’t be too much of an issue for you.
When it comes to carpets, this vacuum cleaner is very effective. While it is not quite good enough to deal with pet hair (see the Vax Blade TBT3V1P2 below), it can still get your carpets looking lovely and clean in no time at all. It will pick up all the surface debris, and a little more, leaving you with results you can be proud of – and all with minimal effort.
The Vax Blade TBT3V1B1 comes with an excellent selection of attachments for you to choose from, each of which is quite standard and will help you to better clean your home. In addition to this, they can be attached to both the handheld area and the wand – making cleaning a lot more versatile.
The dusting brush is ideal for cleaning delicate areas of the home that need extra attention, as well as bannisters and tiled floors – like the kitchen and bathroom.
The crevice tool, on the other hand, is designed for tight spaces that you can’t reach with the main floorhead or wand, so that no dust bunnies are able to escape your grasp at any point.

What Does the Vax Blade TBT3V1P2 Have?
In short, the Vax Blade TBT3V1P2 has the same core features as the Vax Blade TBT3V1B1. It is essentially the same model, but the pet version comes with a few variations that will make a real difference to your home if you are living with furry friends. Take a look below and see what the Vax Blade TBT3V1P2 is able to offer that the 1B1 cannot.
Vax Blade TBT3V1P2
Cordless stick vacuum
When we own pets, it is expected that they will shed and leave hair everywhere, but it is often the case that a regular vacuum cleaner just can’t handle the fluff they leave behind. This model from Vax can, and with its exceptional suction and handy selection of accessories, you are in for a real treat with this one. It might just be what you were searching for.

The Vax Blade TBT3V1P2 has improved suction when compared to the 1B1, and this is so that it can pick up pet hair and grime more effectively when used on both hard floors and carpets alike.
When it comes to the former, it is gentle on the floor but still able to reach right into the gaps to lift forgotten durst and debris. With carpets, the brush roll will really get in there – lifting embedded dirt and pet hair from the deepest layers of your carpet, reaching depths you never even knew existed.
The Vax Blade TBT3V1P2 comes with the standard tools you would expect, which are the dusting brush and crevice tool. The former is great for kitchen floors (my personal recommendation), while the latter is suited to reaching tight corners that you would otherwise have trouble with.
Just like the Vax Blade TBT3V1B1, they can be attached to both the wand and the handheld model. It also comes with an extra pet and stairs tool, and this motorised brush works hard to remove pet hair and general dirt from your furniture, carpets, and also your stairs. It’s a great mini tool that can be used in a number of cleaning situations.
